The Renaissance is a catalytic, equity-centered homeownership initiative in the heart of Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. Led by Sunshine Management—a Black- and woman-owned firm with deep roots on the South Side—the project responds directly to decades of systemic disinvestment and displacement. Building on a proven model of community-led revitalization, it transforms vacant land into opportunities for wealth-building and long-term neighborhood stability.

The Renaissance envisions a return to rootedness—expanding access to homeownership for working families, preserving the cultural fabric of Bronzeville, and catalyzing economic equity through inclusive development. Grounded in a commitment to racial justice, community control, and reinvestment in historically excluded neighborhoods, the project prioritizes long-term affordability, generational wealth-building, and local leadership as core drivers of change.
