Sunshine Management’s Bonita Harrison named Titan of Chicago Real Estate

Bonita Harrison, Founder and CEO of Sunshine Management, has been named one of Chicago’s Titan 100 for 2026. The Titan 100 recognizes the region’s top CEOs and C-level executives who have not only built extraordinary companies but also redefined what it means to lead.

“Being recognized among Chicago’s esteemed real estate leaders for our contributions to reshaping communities and driving economic growth is truly an honor,” said Harrison. “Beyond the recognition, it is an added inspiration for us to continue investing our heart, mind, and actions into revitalizing neighborhoods and creating inclusive communities where people of color can thrive both individually and as families.”

Sunshine Management is a social impact real estate development company committed to bridging the equity gap in communities of color. The firm transforms distressed, long-vacant land into timeless structures that boost neighborhood morale and welcome families back to historically disinvested areas.

Harrison is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and went to acquire her Master’s of Science in Mathematics on a full academic scholarship. She began her career in the industry as owner and managing broker of KBM Realty in 2006, where she gained expertise in property management and real estate advising, providing financial education, innovative strategies, and personalized guidance to make homeownership accessible for the Black community.

Collectively, the 2026 Titan 100 honorees generate over $120 billion in annual revenue and employ more than 207,000 people, with over half reporting revenues above $35 million. Sunshine Management alone has contributed over $30 million in Black generational wealth, $250,000 in annual tax revenue, created 400+ jobs for locals, and developed 300+ residential and mixed-use units.

“Through our efforts, we create jobs and opportunities for community residents,” Harrison added. “We’ve increased local tax revenue twentyfold, helping fund public schools. Partnering with a community is far more meaningful than merely building for it.”

Sunshine Management is currently spearheading a wave of growth on Chicago’s South Side, with four major projects along Bronzeville Avenue and one in North Lawndale. The Bronzeville developments include Sankofa (six 3-unit buildings and one 8-unit structure), The Renaissance (three 8-unit buildings), Ubuntu Village (ten apartment buildings totaling 45 units), and Demera, an expansion of the popular Demera Ethiopian Restaurant. Unity at North Lawndale features eleven 3-unit buildings. Sankofa is scheduled for completion in March 2026.

“A titan doesn’t climb alone,” Harrison said. “At Sunshine Management, we invest in elevating women and minority developers, creating a pipeline of future leaders. We build homes, but more importantly, we are building builders.”
